Dynamic trials start with 370 mph maglev prototype
The first of five ultra-high-speed maglev prototype vehicles has completed its maiden test run on a 1.5 km guideway at Tonghi University in Shanghai. Although the test was conducted at speeds well below 270 mph (600 kmh), the test confirmed the vehicle’s stability and the performance of its suspension and all key technical indicators had been met. São Paulo subway facial recognition system slammed over user data security and privacy
The operator of São Paulo’s subway system has failed to show sufficient evidence that it is ensuring the protection of user privacy in implementing a new surveillance system that will use facial recognition technology. Consumer rights bodies have called the new system “inefficient and dangerous” following the conclusion of legal action against Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo (METRO).
