They’ll be welcoming ladies of the day with scrumptious dining options and special surprises!
Most popular are Mother’s Day dinner train experiences that combine ever-changing views with moveable feasts! Early risers can surprise Mom with a special Sunday Brunch. California’s Roaring Camp Railroads plan to host a brunch buffet complete with the redwoods views and live music. A brunch-time roll through New York’s Adirondacks aboard the Arcade & Attica Railroad is a Mother’s Day treat. In Massachusetts, the Cape Cod Central Railroad’s brunch menu features five entrées.
Of course, for many, nothing could be finer than dinner in the diner and no two Mother’s Day dinner train experiences are alike! The Royal Gorge Route Railroad. complements its lunch with stunning views of the Arkansas River canyon. A full course prime rib dinner is a Mom’s Day highlight aboard Montana’s Charlie Russell Chew-Choo. And Washington State’s Chehalis-Centralia Railroad & Museum goes the distance with luncheon and dinner served aboard a 1920s coach.
In Florida, the Seminole Gulf Railway’s Murder Mystery Train celebrates mom with a live “who dunnit?” performance and five-course dinner. The New Hope Railroad and Strasburg Rail Road roll out a Mother’s Day Wine and Cheese Excursions through the Pennsylvania countryside.
For a number of railways, “free rides for mom” has become a Mother’s Day tradition! Freebies await all deserving moms at Illinois’s Monticello Railway Museum and South Dakota’s Herman & Milwaukee Railroad. The tickets are free for Sunshine State moms at the Florida Railroad Museum. And Mom’s free ticket comews with a complementary mimosa at Ohio’s Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad!
Delaware’s Wilmington & Western Railroad, Pennsylvania’s West Chester Railroad, Arkansas’s Arkansas & Missouri Railroad, are Texas’s Historic Jefferson Railway are among the railways where mom’s ride for discounted fares on her special day!
Mother’s Day train ride schedules vary. While most railroads will host events on Mother’s Day, May 8th; some rides are scheduled on Saturday, May 7th only, while others plan to run special trains on both days. Check with individual scenic trains and heritsge railroads for exact dates and times and remember that advance reservations are required or advisable in most instances.
