Australia: New South Wales allocates $4.4bn for Sydney Metro West
The Government of New South Wales in Australia has confirmed A$6.4bn ($4.4bn) of funding for the Sydney Metro West project, as part of its 2019 to 2020 state budget. The total funding will be made available in four years and will accelerate construction of the project. [railway-technology.com]
USA: Call to study proposed New York Triboro rail line
A more than 20-year-old proposal to construct an above-ground rail line connecting Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx is getting renewed attention in Albany. A newly introduced bill would require the MTA to study the feasibility of building the 24-mile train route. [citylimits.org]
Europe: FlixTrain seeks to enter France’s passenger market
