Denver’s Amtrak ‘Winter Park Express’ ski train returns in January
Amtrak’s Winter Park Express ski train will return in January, launching 12 weekends of Friday-Saturday-Sunday service between Denver and the Winter Park Resort. Service begins Friday, January 14th and will continue through the first weekend of April. The bi-level Superliner train features a Sightseer Lounge car with snacks and drinks available. A long-time feature of the Denver & Rio Grande Western, the ski train was revived in 2017. Tickets are now available. [trains.com]

Ottawa LRT expected to resume partial service this Friday
Ottawa’s light rail system is expected to begin running limited service this week. The Confederation Line has been shut down since a train derailed on September 19th. Testing, which began November 4th, is ongoing and is anticipated to wrap on Wednesday in preparation for a partial resumption of service on November 12th. Seven LRTs are scheduled to return to service on Friday. The balance of the fleet will be gradually reintroduced through the end of November. [cbc.ca]

VIA Rail Canada adding second weekly Montreal-Halifax round trip
VIA Rail Canada will add a second weekly round trip of its Montreal-Halifax train, the Ocean, beginning December 8th. Eastbound trains will depart Montreal on Wednesdays and Sundays, with the westbound return trips departing Halifax on Sundays and Wednesdays. A third weekly round trip will be added in June 2022. Service on the route resumed with one round-trip a week in August, after having been suspended since March 2020. [trains.com]

NYC Subway Trains welcoming theatergoers back to Broadway
New York’s MTA is welcoming back theatergoers with a new ad campaign featuring stars from seven Broadway shows riding the subway. The campaign includes Danny Burstein and Bahiyah Hibah from Moulin Rouge!, Jordan Fisher from Dear Evan Hansen, as well as Adrianna Hicks and Andrea Macasaet from Six. Joining them are Stephanie Torns and Maiesha McQueen from Waitress, Avery Sell and Rob McClure from Mrs. Doubtfire, Mary Claire King and Arian Keddell from Chicago, and Paul A.
